Privacy & Safety

How we keep your contact info private.

What it is

Your phone number and email address stay private — always. We never share them with the other side. Employers and seekers pay to unlock an in-app chat with you; the conversation happens inside Job On The Block. We also catch contact info that anyone might paste into public text by accident, so nothing slips out before it should.

Where to find it

Your privacy controls live on your profile — Workers: Profile → Share preferences. Employers: Profile → Business profile.

How it works

Your phone and email are masked everywhere — including inside chat. Unlocking a chat lets you message the other person inside the app; it does not reveal their phone or email. The same protection runs on voice intros and public bios.

What's public, what's private
Always public
Bio, ratings, voice intro
Always private
Phone, email (never shared between users)
Always filtered
Outside-chat invites (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord)
Slightly clustered
Map pins for shared addresses

What to expect

What stays private, and where:

  • Your phone number and email are never visible to other users, even after they pay to unlock chat. All messages happen inside the app.
  • On public spaces — your bio, job posts, applications, ratings, and voice intros — we quietly filter out phone numbers, emails, handles, and outside links.
  • Inside an in-app chat, we still block group-invite links (WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, Discord invites) — keep the conversation here.
  • For the full picture of what we store and why, see the Privacy Policy.
